Fundraising

Scoo-B-Doo is funded by people just like you. If you want to get more hands on, there’s a huge variety of fun ways to bring to people together and raise much needed funds. From £15 for equipment to help a new mum with infant feeding, to £20,000 for incubators and ventilators, it all helps.

Raising money for Scoo-B-Doo

You can plan something just for you or involve your school classmates, family members, friends, work colleagues, sports team or businesses. You may have had a baby on the Neonatal Unit, know someone who has or maybe you just want to make difference by supporting us.

In terms of targets for common equipment, Scoo-B-Doo buys smaller items from £15 to help mums with infant feeding, stethoscopes for £70, breast pumps for £1200, intravenous pumps for £4000, monitoring equipment costing around £9000, all the way up to £20,000 for incubators and ventilators.

Every effort made to support the ward, no matter the size, will greatly help. We always have a ‘wish list’ on the go so feel free to contact us and ask about what’s currently needed.

Fundrasing Legalities

We want to keep things as simple and safe as possible. To put our minds at ease, please carefully read the information below before considering an event.

Consent

>

If you wish to hold and event on private property, please ensure you ask the owner or manager for permission.

If anyone under the age of 17 is helping at your event, they must be accompanied by an adult and must have parental permission to be there. If photos are being taken, you must get parental consent before taking pictures of anyone under 18.

Risk Assessments

Ensure you identify and assess any risks and highlight any hazards that may be present throughout the event and have the right level of first aid cover.

Handling Money

>

Please refer to our guide on “Ways to Donate” before paying any money to the charity to ensure the correct procedures are followed.

It is always best for more than one person present when money is counted, and all money should be kept as secure as you can, then banked as soon as possible.

Licenses

Depending on the nature of your event, you may need to obtain a special license to hold it. Check with your local authority before holding an event and also seek permission from the local council if you are planning an event in a public place.

Insurance

We will support you the best we can, but please remember that you are responsible for your own event. Scoo-B-Doo Charity cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered by you or anyone participating in the event. Please note your event will not be covered by any charity insurance we possess.

Food Hygiene
